Just in: Bayelsa monarch, two others abducted by sea-pirates

Suspected kidnappers have whisked away from the deputy traditional ruler of the Otuabula community, Chief Otia Isomom and two others in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The incident occurred on Monday at Otuabula community at about 1:am when some suspected kidnappers numbering 20 stormed the peaceful community and took their victim way.

A community source said the abductors came in with two-speed boats to carry their victims away.

“The gunmen numbering about 20 stormed the community at about 1:am on Monday and whisked away the deputy paramount ruler, Chief Otia Isomom, Mrs Lucy Osain and Mr Friday Abah into a waiting speedboat and zoomed off”, the source said.

The community source confirmed the incident to Tribune Online. According to the source, a resident who accidentally saw the incident was stabbed with a dagger but luckily escaped being killed.
